The Vision
The vision was to transform a private estate in Glendale, California into an immersive Cirque du Soleil–inspired celebration, where every guest would feel transported into a world of elegance, theatrical design, and unforgettable entertainment.
To bring that vision to life, Pipe Dream Events partnered closely with the event planner to execute a full-scale production that included custom pipe and drape, red-and-gold ceiling treatments, theatrical lighting, staging, a custom marquee installation, lounge furniture, and coordinated décor. Every element was designed to work together as one cohesive environment.
With only four days from project confirmation to installation, the team moved immediately into production. A 12-person crew completed the installation in approximately 15 hours across one full day and one half day, delivering the entire $56,599.40 production on schedule and to the client’s expectations.
The Event
The production combined theatrical design with a luxury private-event experience. Pipe Dream supplied and installed perimeter drapery, red-and-gold ceiling swag, uplighting, bistro lighting, staging, custom marquee signage, lounge seating, cocktail tables, stools, ottomans, linens, and additional décor elements.The design centered on creating a fully immersive environment rather than simply decorating the space. Every production element was coordinated to support the planner’s creative direction while maintaining a polished and consistent guest experience throughout the property.
The Challenge
The greatest challenge was the extremely limited production window. The project was officially confirmed only four days before installation, leaving very little time to finalize production details, coordinate inventory, source specialty elements, prepare equipment, schedule labor, and execute the full installation. The scope extended beyond drapery alone and included ceiling treatments requiring rigging and scissor lifts, theatrical lighting, custom marquee signage, multiple stage configurations, and a substantial furniture package. With a $57K production and virtually no room for delay, every component had to be coordinated quickly and accurately. Additional furniture was also requested during the process and incorporated without affecting the installation schedule.
Our Approach
Pipe Dream Events responded to the compressed timeline with rapid coordination, clear communication, and disciplined production planning. A 12-person crew was organized to complete approximately 15 hours of installation across one full day and one half day. The team simultaneously handled perimeter drapery and framing, ceiling treatments, lighting, staging, marquee rigging, furniture placement, and the other production elements required to complete the transformation.
The Transformation
The private estate was transformed into a sophisticated Cirque du Soleil–inspired environment through layered drapery, theatrical ceiling treatments, lighting, staging, custom signage, and coordinated furniture. The production included perimeter drapery and multi-level framing, red-and-gold sheer ceiling treatments, 15 uplights, approximately 450 feet of suspended bistro lighting, and a custom marquee installation approximately 18–20 feet wide. A 16-foot-diameter round stage and an 8-by-16-foot rectangular stage helped define the performance areas, while lounge seating, sofas, ottomans, cocktail tables, stools, and linens completed the guest environment.
The Results
Despite having only four days from confirmation to installation, the entire production was completed on schedule. The 12-person team executed approximately 15 hours of installation while coordinating drapery, ceiling treatments, lighting, staging, custom signage, furniture, rigging, trucking, delivery, and full strike as part of the $56,599.40 project. Additional furniture requirements were accommodated without disrupting the timeline, and the production was delivered without major last-minute changes or delays. The finished transformation exceeded the client’s expectations, with both the planner and client extremely satisfied with the final result.
